Nathan Harmon - UX/UI Design
Hi, I’m Nathan.
I'm not much for the spotlight, but here's a little about me. I think it could be said that I have a uniquely multifaceted background. A blend, which in my opinion, suits itself particularly well to UX/UI and product design. With an undergrad in Psychology under my belt, I worked as a family therapist serving at-risk youths with mental health diagnoses for several years. Later, a love of computers and technology pushed me into a career in IT. Hobbies like photography and the fact that I've always been a visual learner compelled me to take on more website and graphic design projects within my IT role, which I found to be incredibly rewarding. This visual storytelling, paired with psychological design principles and aesthetic composition, scratched a creative itch, while effective UX writing, thoughtful content organization, and an intimate knowledge of technology pain points gained from my clients rounded and exercised every corner of my eclectic skill set.
Wanting to pursue a new career that both valued and utilized a multidisciplinary mindset, I enrolled in the HCI Master's program at Iowa State University and recently graduated with a 4.0. Motivated by real-world problems and armed with critical thinking skills and meticulous attention to detail, I’m excited and well-prepared to solve any new challenges awaiting me in these next chapters of my professional life.
